Award Recognition
Denny Hemingson's "Thank God For the Blues" was selected as a Top 5 Winner in the R&B category of the 17th Annual Great American Song Contest, receiving an Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting award. Contest judges praised the track for its "strong chorus, consistently engaging lyrical story and smartly designed melodic composition," calling it a "vivid and relatable premise" going on to say "it’s not often that we are presented with a blues tune as well-crafted as this one."
"Swamp Thing" was awarded Finalist in the Folk Rock / Americana / Roots Rock category at the 33rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, and “Thank God for the Blues” was awarded an honorable mention.
Because of the Swamp Thing album, Abel James and the band were named one of the top 20 artists of 2024 by Fountain.fm.
Now, the same band is back, with bigger vocals, bolder stories, and a sound that pushes even further.
Headline picks up where Swamp Thing left off, and then turns up the dial.
